When the leaves are this green and lush (thanks buckets of rain!) the browns of the buildings really pop. It's hot out for sure, but July in the city is awfully pretty.

On a lovely street, in a lovely part of Brooklyn, I made a new little friend. Or maybe my camera did? So much eye contact!
Morning in one of the most charming neighborhoods in Brooklyn with one of the most charming one year olds I've ever met.
For my latest adventure in trying new things, I've been incorporating different lenses and techniques to create images that have a bit of an unexpected feel to them. There's never enough time for personal projects, and I could have spent all day taking these photos in the timelessly beautiful West Village. See if you can spot the effects in some of these (hint - involved a lens baby, a prism, and double exposures). And thank you to my patient and beautiful subjects :). More of these experiments to come!
It's a mad rush to the cherry blossoms in NYC. After a painfully long winter, these beguiling beauties are a much welcomed sight. Or maybe it's because I'm getting older - the little things take on far more meaning. It is my birthday today. :).
And despite the sheer beauty provided by nature outside, we spent some time inside too....
