A Big Girl now

With the trend of revisiting past subjects, I first photographed this gal last December.

One of the fascinating things about this job is watching kids grow. Sometimes I witness this change monthy. Sometimes an entire year goes by. I only glimpse a moment of these kids' lives, and I always wonder if I mange to capture even a smidge of who they really are, and if this transcends time. How cool would it be if she had the same expressions at age 16.

On the Banks of the Gowanus

I love gritty, urban settings for photo shoots. The colors, textures and unexpected finds (pink jellyfish anyone?) make me giddy! With beautiful light and an adventurous tot on our side, we were fortunate to get these shots in when we did. Not to mention that days later these very streets were under water!

Before the Storm

It was the epitome of fall in Prospect Park. Golden-red vistas, warm air, and lovely filtered light from the blanket of pillowy clouds. I feel so lucky we were able to capture these moments when we did. A couple days later, a lot changed. Hug your loved ones tight, New York.

Just Play

You can tell this family spends a lot of time having fun together. As soon as I arrived, out came the silliness and games. They just played, non stop. Probably why this little lady has a nearly permanent smile across her face.
