Toddlers. Whatever you planned for your photo shoot, I can 100% guarantee that your tiny subject has other ideas (and an unmatched will).
It's a beautiful day in... | brooklyn family photographer
The few blocks radius around where you live, those familiar sights you pass everyday, multiple times a day, that you never stopped to really consider or notice - the colors, the textures, the shapes - these are the places that I love. Somehow families always seem to fit so seamlessly in their immediate environments.

This is the pre-walking and running stage, those precious months when you have not quite a baby and not quite a full on toddler. When you don’t yet get sweaty at sessions running around after a tiny maniac, but you still have a kiddo who wants to do anything but be still. Those calm moments we capture - a mirage - 90% of the time there is a lot of squirming. It all makes for great photos…and sometimes exhausted parents.

Every so often I double check to make sure all my file storage processes are in working order. I randomly select folders and files and make sure everything is where it should be. I usually check personal files - videos of my kids when they were toddlers, etc. More often than not, this leads to an hour or so of relishing nostalgic moments. I highly recommend. Do you have a thirteen year old in the house? Go back and look at photos when they were 5. You’re welcome.
