There's a scenic spot in Dumbo between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges which beckons all sorts of photographers. During our early morning session there were at least 2 other families being photographed, as well as some handbags and a fashion model. In my opinion, the scenery was made exceptionally captivating thanks to the warmth emanating from this beautiful Brooklyn family.
There's something particularly awesome about watching young siblings interact and imagining how their relationship will play out over the coming years. I kind of wish I'd had an older brother like this one.
All that was missing was...nothing.
It's amazing how much you learn about a family just by spending a couple hours with them. And not because you pepper everyone with questions, but becuase you just watch and listen. For me it's one of the things I love about my job. Witnessing the way people truly care about each other.
Celebrating the first year of a tot's life is really for the parents, or so they say. Our friend here had other plans for his big day. With an explosion of color, games, toys and music, the guests under three feet high were definitely leading in the "having a ridiculously good time" category. My favorite moment: when the birthday boy decide to take over from the party guitarist and show him a thing or two.
