This is their park, have been going for ages. I love when families choose a spot that has a special meaning. I think about kids looking back at these photos when they're older. Seeing not just a beautiful location, but the places where they've actually grown up. Adds a little something.
Evening light in Prospect Park | brooklyn child photographer
I shoot in the mornings quite a bit. Kids are usually up early and at their freshest so why not, right? On the rare occasion I get to photograph in the lovely hour before sunset. The light is a bit magical then. Often it interferes with bedtimes, especially in the summer, but if it works out, it's my favorite time of day to hold a session.
Bag full of tricks | brooklyn family photographer
Have you been to the Zucker Exploration Area in Prospect Park? Go. And if that wasn't enough to captivate these kiddos, mom and dad came prepared with lots of fun things to play with during the shoot - pinwheels, bubbles, eggs filled with confetti and to finish things off, a stop at the farmer's market for some cider doughnuts.
Down the block | brooklyn child photographer
Sometimes all you have to do is open your front door and walk down the block to get photos like these. Big love to Brooklyn and its adorable families.
An evening in Carroll Park | brooklyn child photographer
This was my first time holding a session in and around Carroll Park in Carroll Gardens. I usually don't recommend it as a location because of the swarms of tikes, but there are some really fun elements. We spent a bit of time in the Transit Garden at the end. Have you been? A hidden treasure!
