I love sessions like these. We start off with a rough plan and inevitably veer off course, meeting canine neighbors, playing with toothbrushes, finding unexpected moments that perfectly encapsulate what life is like right now.

Have you seen these owls? I've passed them many times on my way to other spots in Dumbo but I never thought to work these in. Yay awesome client requests!
Greenpoint, I'm a fan | brooklyn family photographer
After living in NYC for 10 years I'm somewhat embarrassed to say that I've never been to this part of the city. One of the benefits I've come to appreciate about taking photos of New York families is that I find myself in neighborhoods I might never have seen otherwise. This is a cool little section of Greenpoint. Transmitter Park has piers that take you out over the river for some expansive Manhattan views. The blocks surrounding are filled with street art and textural, industrial scapes. And there's a great bookstore with good finds for little ones. I might want to move here.
Visitors | brooklyn family photographer
These past couple years I've gotten more and more requests by families visiting New York to have their time in our city documented. When planning a vacation, I've never thought to add "book a photographer" to the checklist, but it's kind of brilliant. 1 ) One less thing to worry about doing yourself, 2) otherwise someone (ahem the one holding the camera) is inevitably left out of the photos, and 3) you're in a new place - hang with a local to take you to the cool (and maybe unexpected) spots!

Should you happen to be out and about, and run into one if not all of these four. Consider your day exponentially brightened.
