My first kiddo was born in spring and I brought her home on Mother's Day. I have a special soft spot for spring babies, especially those from my neighborhood in Brooklyn.

Some of my favorite sessions are held within the walls where a family spends their most time, especially in year one. It's in your everyday environment that nuances come out and make some of the most memorable and personable photos. For example, this little guy loves to watch the washing machine. We certainly didn't plan to get this shot, but it was an impromptu idea and I'm so glad we did.
Some families decide to forego a newborn session and wait a bit before scheduling a session with the newest member of their family. He's still small, but so so aware of everything, especially my camera that day...
A little inside a little outside. Taking it all in with this little guy in Fort Greene.
A blizzard is coming to the northeast tomorrow. I always think of the babies that are about to be born. How worried their parents must be right now. What if the streets aren't plowed? Will they be able to get to the hospital in time? And for the parents of newborns already here. Looking out the windows at the snowy city. Is home quiet and cozy? Or is it mayhem because the toddler who might normally be at school is making unreasonable demands, while the baby refuses to fall asleep. Good luck everyone!
