I never know what to expect. Every time I work with a family I haven’t met before, (and sometimes even with those those that I have) I walk into a dynamic that is unpredictable. Everyone is different. Kids are different. The same kids are different depending on the day (or minute). It’s what makes family photography both challenging and incredible rewarding. I get so excited when I spend time with a family and we cycle through so many different types of experiences and emotions. When you get to witness love, frustration, curiosity, adoration, calm, chaos, and all that makes us human. It’s a pretty special thing.
Turn a different corner | dumbo family photographer
So you want to hold a family photo session in Dumbo. You and the thousands of other families, couples, birthday kids, fashionistas, bloggers, and deep-pocketed commercial producers. It’s popular. That goes unsaid. But Dumbo has so much to offer that’s also off the beaten path. If you’re willing to walk down a completely unpopulated street, you might find some surprises. You know this guy? He’s got a mural in Dumbo now, but it’s not at the waterfront (wink).
Toddling through Chinatown | nyc family photographer

During our brief tear through the neighborhood this time around, two things became abundantly certain: 1 - Toddlers love Chinatown and 2 - Bliss expands exponentially when little plaid wearers show up.
