In honor of mother's day, lots of mom going on here. Thank you to the wonderful families who make my days of mini sessions so much fun. Thank you especially to the kids for surprising me every time.

Staple street - popular location for photoshoots - used to be the alley between an old ship worker's hospital and its corresponding ambulance depot. The bridge that bestrides the two buildings was the passage way to deliver patients from the ambulance to the hospital. This little fact told to me while I was scouting, by a nice guy walking his dog who has lived in the neighborhood since the 60s.

A little at home, a little around the block, a lot of goofball.
Gowanus Redux | brooklyn family photographer
Before there were five, we spent a morning galavanting through the back streets of this ever changing set of blocks. Some of the buildings are now gone, shuffleboard has arrived, and like this family, the street art continues to evolve. What hasn't changed? The fun I have hanging out with this crew.

This superwoman pretty much single handedly got me into photography. I owe it all to her. And as photographers, we have plenty of photos or our kids, and of our spouse with our kids. But we, we are rarely in the picture. So for this session, it was pretty much all about mom.
