My first kiddo was born in spring and I brought her home on Mother's Day. I have a special soft spot for spring babies, especially those from my neighborhood in Brooklyn.

This was my first time shooting in Vinegar Hill, a somewhat secluded Brooklyn neighborhood just beyond the frequently touristed streets of Dumbo. It's quirky, unexpected and exceedingly charming (if you don't mind a little classic nyc grit). A fun little spot to spend the day with 8 exceedingly charming nyc families.

Some of my favorite sessions are held within the walls where a family spends their most time, especially in year one. It's in your everyday environment that nuances come out and make some of the most memorable and personable photos. For example, this little guy loves to watch the washing machine. We certainly didn't plan to get this shot, but it was an impromptu idea and I'm so glad we did.
