Twenty or so minutes of running around my favorite neighborhood yields something like this. Also - New Year’s resolution - keep up with blog posts - these were from September ;).

Experimenting | greenpoint brooklyn family photographer
In 2018, I started tinkering with how I took photos. I experimented with different lenses and ways to manipulate an image while shooting. I wanted to try this during a family session with a toddler to see just how that might go. In this session, I primarily used a 24mm and an 85mm lens. I explored things like double exposures, shooting with prisms, twinkle lights and plastic bags. I also played with motion blur and focus. These three were troopers as they patiently waited for me to try, screw up and try again. I wish I had more time. I hope to do more of this in 2020.

Okay okay, so do I. Worth getting up early to capture before the world descends on Dumbo.
How to make it awesome | red hook family photographer

It also doesn’t hurt to shoot in a place like Red Hook, which is bursting with interesting locations. And I’ve said it before, but the real key to it all…the number one thing that adds that extra little something…embracing the idea of PLAY.
